Can you recommend good homemade baby food book?

My DS will be eating food in 3 weeks! I have NO idea what to start with or how to make the food. All I know is that I plan to go organic and homemade food. Can anyone give me tips or recommend a book that will help me make baby food?

I never bought a book, just used recipes from here. You also do not need any special equipment. I used our mixer and our blender for all of our foods.

Some use ice cube trays, but I bought a lot of very small plastic containers and froze mine. It worked great.

From my experience, most of the time it is rewarding. However, the time and effort to make applesauce is not worth it.

Not a book, but wholesomebabyfood.com is a terrific resource.

I agree with the site mentioned by PPs. Its great. And although it may feel like you're embarking on a huge new adventure, it will only last a few months - baby will be eating table foods soon.

We puree things like squash, sweet potatoes, beets, and peas in the food processor and freeze in ice cube trays. Then transfer the frozen cubes into a bag in the freezer. So easy. And you'll probably only need to do that for a couple months before they can manage non-pureed foods.

I took the "Baby's First Solids" class at the breastfeeding center, and found it very useful:

They cover things like how to know when your child is ready, what are potential/common allergens, and what are good first foods. More helpful to me than a book, because I could ask questions.

Click on the top on "books" to see the books (but you can get a lot of information from the website too).

Someone told me about this when I had my first baby -- it had never occurred to me to feed a child this way. Now I've done it with two kids, and it has been so great, and so easy.
