Should I tell DD she ate spinach and liked it?

Getting my DCs to eat their veggies is always an uphill battle for me. I have better luck with fruits, but they are so stubborn with the veggies, even though that is mostly what I eat. I fixed spinach tortellini the other night and DD ate the whole bowl. She didn't notice the spinach and asked for more. I wanted to say, look, you're eating spinach! But then I thought if I tell her, she'll might be mentally turned off and not want to eat it again. But at the same time I want her to realize that spinach is yummy. So should I tell her that she likes to eat spinach or just keep serving it until she figures it out?

Read "DW and the picky eater!" Same scenario! I read it to my students. They love it!

It's hard to say. She may be turned off to it, or she may take it fairly well and still like it. Sometimes it helps if they help cook something too.

Let her it a couple more times, and remind her of how yummy it was when cooking it again, at the end of the second meal let her know... call it by the name like it's no big deal.

BTW, when you combine iron rich food with diary it kills all the iron in it, just so you know... adding spinach to cheese adds up to ZERO iron...

You have better luck hiding it into red sauce and dough that will be eaten with no cheese.

We're vegetarian so we have a bit lesser battles with veggies but the problem here is that they want everything with cheese and we're trying to cut on diary.

Don't tell her! She'll become skeptical of all foods after that. Just count your blessings.
