So tell me, do any of you wish you had voted for Hillary instead?

I did vote for her.

I thought (and still think) that Obama could have been a decent candidate and a decent President once he got some exerience. Say in 2016 or later. But he has proven that he is not up to the job.

And the whole "first black president" thing drives me nuts: 1) he's biracial, 2) who cares? When nobody cares anymore, then we will have made some progress with respect to racism in this country. But that's a whole 'nother thread. (and I'm biracial, for record.)

clearly Obama benefited a ton by being bi-racial. It led to him winning the southern primaries, and that got him the nomination. It is what it is, and maybe that is a good thing, but I agree with your other points.

No. I was afraid that Hillary couldn't win because so many people hated the Clintons so much. Of course, I wasn't prepared for the extent to which some people would believe that Obama is a secret Muslim Marxist.

This. Many Republicans (and independents) had an almost visceral hatred of all things Clinton. Her negatives were equal to her positives, both in the high 40s. She had virtually no room for growth in her support. It's almost impossible to win a national election that way. Not saying she wouldn't have done a good (better) job, but she simply woudl not have won, even in a year that favored the Democrats in almost every respect.

They sure would have - McCain would have been the president now. She was totally unelectable. It is mind-boggling to me that more democrats don't recognize this.

I agree with this. McCain would have picked a different 2nd. He would've played the seasoned warrior card, and we'd have been stuck with him. No thank you.

Different question - do I wish she had been elected? Absolutely. I think she would have not capitulated to the Republicans quite as much, would have led better - maybe. Although they would have both been dealing with a pile of *** so hard to see in hindsight.

I would take the seasoned warrior over what we have now.

I said he would have played that card [in the election] - and FWIW, he's just not - at least not in a leadership position with lives on the line - and he would have been TERRIBLE as a president. We don't need a warrior, we need a leader. There is a difference.

We don't need a warrior; we need a good bowler.

I voted for Obama, but agree that Hllary might have done a better job.

Or might not.

Either way, we would probably now be discussing her shortcomings and whether we wished that we had voted for Obama.

Correct. And Hillary would not have won, but she would have been a better President.

He is such a lame duck that he looks as though he has been hobbled. As for Hillary. Yes, I wanted her to be President. I think we would have been so much better off because there would have been a lot of pillow talk with her DH who would have kept her out of the sand traps.

I wish she would resign as Sec. of State and run for nomination for 2012.

Obama self-identifies as a black man born of a white mother and a black father. You really aren't okay with his self-identification? As someone who is also from a mixed race (and culture) family, I wish people like you would be satisfied with people identifying as they choose to.

Howard Dean was the only decent candidate the Dems have put up in decades.
