Hi,
Has anybody tried to transfer his/her child to another public school? Would it be possible? Thanks. |
only if it's truly a hardship case, you've moved, or the school has missed AYP for three years |
What if one child is in a magnet program? I've seen people transfer their other child to the regular program so the kids can be at the same location. |
http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/info/transfers/ChangeSchoolAssignment-English.pdf This says that absent a demonstrated "unique" hardship, transfer is not allowed for a sibling of a child going to a magnet program. |
Interesting, but I've seen several cases of this at our school. I guess the principal must have some discretion. |
Or maybe they have a unique hardship to which you are not privy. |
One in magnet, one hardshipped in. Most wouldn't have any idea. Principal had no discretion or say. All done straight through the county office. |
I've known principals who have had a final say. It's not always through OSP. |
