Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
| I'm biased but you should take both baby and husband and enjoy Hawaii. If baby gets off schedule your husband can pick up the slack. Its much easier to travel with a 9 month old than a busy toddler. What island will you be visiting? |

When my youngest was 8 mos, my dh had a company bonus trip to HI. My daughter was not a great bottle taker. For me, I was going to bring her. It was not appropriate to bring her to company events though. The other issue was that I did not have anyone who could keep my boys (then 2 and 6) for that long of a period. What we did was bring the kids, and the inlaws as well. We rented a condo for the inlaws and kids (and us once the company part of the trip was over). My dd primarily stayed with us at night, with the exception of one night when we had a company event late. (it was her first night away, and took some convincing from MIL, but it was great). The best part, IL's were so excited, that they used frequent flyer miles to purchase our boys tickets.
We were able to see them a little each day. IL's got a great chance to bond with all 3 children. For us, this was the best of both worlds. We all still speak fondly of this trip 3 years later. Only my 2 year old had a meltdown on one of our flights, but we managed. The baby, she was easy. I do not remember much of an adjustment beyond the first day. Though my children slept alot on the way, they were pretty exhausted so went to sleep rather easily. They woke up really early the first day, but after that were fine. |
