what do you do when your DS has to go pee and you are at the park?

Just wondering what everyone else does? Unfortunately there are no bathrooms, its just a small playground with woods and a football field that we walk to from the house. But its not that close that we just walk home for the bathroom and come back out again

Just curious

How old is your child? If he's really young, he can wear a diaper. If he's potty trained, have him go before you leave home. If he has to go while you are there, sorry, but public parks are not toilets.

If you are at the park for so long that it is actually resonable for a child to have emptied his bladder right before leaving and filled up again while playing, it is probably time for a break anyway.

I call troll. I think OP is a high school kid looking to restart the debate from last week. We should not respond.

Pee at the park. Not a big deal.

We pee at the park. We have a little potty. If its poop, I'll put in a plastic bag and throw it away, and if its pee, it just goes on the ground.

Keep some empty water bottles in the car. He can then go in private. Dispose of them when you get home.

Let him pee behind a tree or a bush that is far enough away from the park for privacy and to not cause a disturbance to others. If there is no tree or bush far enough (like say at an urban park), then you'll have to get creative. It's really not that difficult to figure out. Is there a nearby coffee shop? Go to your car and have him pee into a water bottle if you have one handy (which if you do, use that before you decide to have him pee behind a tree).

All you need is a little common sense.

I'm hoping this is a "mommy speak" "We" and not a literal "We. Maybe I'm judgemental, but I feel that people old enough to post in complete sentences on DCUM are old enough to remember to pee before they go.

Definitely pee before leaving the house, and if you know how long your son can hold it it can help you plan better (ie: I know ours can hold it for 2 hours). You can always bring a travel toilet, disposable travel urinals (or whatever they're called).

I personally don't have big issues with peeing in private on a tree or bush somewhere, but definitely no number 2.

I don't think the highschool student who posted this really cares.

DS uses the potty before we leave. If he needs to pee at the park, he pees behind a tree away from where the kids are playing. If he has to poop - we go home or to a restroom close by.

why do PP think this is a high school kid posting this....its not.
My DS is in the process of potty training and is doing good about telling me when he has to go. Thats why I asked this question, I dont want to tell him to just go in his pull up because I think that would defeat the purpose of my everyday phrase..."peepee goes in the potty not in your pull ups" I felt kind of wary of letting him go at a nearby tree, even though my nanny let him do that the other day they were out. Just wondering what other felt about it. I do make him try to go before leaving the house but he doesnt always go.

well thanks for the comments
