how do we get rid of pedophile trolls?

Anonymous
Have you noticed how many threads are about genitalia issues? Can't help thinking we are being jerked around by sick perverts who are getting off on these discussion topics. Has this occurred to anyone else?

Am I missing something? I didn't see all the threads you're talking about.

All I've seen is parents upset because their little girls are growing up or they have an yeast infection.

By any chance are you one of the posters ashamed of calling your girls genitalia by the correct name? Please don't pass to her your traumas.

Uh. No. I didn't even think of that. Potentially any of these threads could be trolls. People can get turned on by anything. Who knows, maybe the "how many strollers do you have?" was really somebody with a stroller fetish.

But seriously. It's a possibility, but I sure didn't get that vibe.

A little strange that you would think that.

Perhaps you're the pedo troll! Are you turned on by the word "genitalia"?

So you're the OP? Figures.

I know what Op is talking about. Like the post about the 5 year-old DD with pubic hair and she wanted help or anwers. Although this is anonymous I find it weird she would be discussing an issue like that about her DD on a public site. Some people could get off reading it. Personally I would call my doctor and keep it a private issue but blasting a thread about it online seems very weird to me.

No. I'm not OP. And you're kinda weird.

And the thread about the DD wiping and the rash on her, and the woman describes her "area" very detailed. I mean come on people I am not prude or anything but I find it completely inappropriate.

Hmmmm.. i don't know if it is trolls, but there are an unsual amount of threads just on this first page of General Parenting that have to do with concerns about girls genitals. Could just be coincidence. The posts all seem like they could be written by people with genuine concern about their kids, though.

I guess you have to ALWAYS assume that any poster you could be responding to could be getting his rocks off dicussing the issue with you. I mean, what are you going to do? This is a totally anonymous discussion forum. Anybody could be anyone and they could be posting for any reason. If it bothers you, check out parenting.com or some place like that.

I do not read them so it does not bother me. But I think the point to get across is (not assuming they are trolls bc I do not think they are) but why would parents of a daughter want to discuss this on a public site. Am I the only person that finds this to be weird that a parent would do that? Why not just call your doctor? I do not get why so many parents on here ask about medical questions when the first thing to do if it is a real issue is call the doctor. It takes longer to post on here then picking up the phone. And then who knows what responses you will get!

That's a good point. I often wonder about parents that post medical questions on here.... not that I think they're trolls. I just wonder why they don't call a doctor... or perhaps try to look it up. I can understand wanting some reassurance, but asking other people on a non-medical forum if they know if their child has a medical condition is a bit strange.

I think it's a little sick to think people are pedophiles when they talk about kids' anatomy.

Have you been reading. No one is calling the posters a pedophile (unless its a troll). Its weird that the parents would go into graphic detail about their kids on a public forum. Not that hard to understand!

It would be weird if it weren't anonymous. But as it stands, all I see are parents looking for information from other parents who've dealt with similar issues.

PP above is probably the poster starting the thread about her Childs genitalia and wants self assurance that what she did is normal. It's not.

Nope, I'm a new poster. If "you" think of your child sexually, that's a problem. I think of mine from a medical/health perspective and genuinely don't understand the fear of speaking about these types of issues.
