I'm a 32F before pregnancy and am already a G at the start of my second trimester and will probably will go up from here. I love swimming and definitely plan on being by the pool all summer long, when I'll be in my third trimester. Any thoughts on where I could get a couple of maternity swimsuits that fit/support a large bust? Ideally I'd like to go somewhere nearby in person to try them on, but if that's not possible, then what are good options online? I've checked out Pea in the Pod, Motherhood, and Old Navy, but they don't seem to have much that is supports large-busted women. Thanks for any help you can provide! |
I got a tankini (it was long and showed no stomach) that managed to cover my very large chest at Target a few years ago.... |
I'm 34DD pregnant, and have chosen to double up--a high-cut binkini top from Land's End that covers 100% of my breasts (really, there's not even any hint of cleavage) and a tankini top from Old Navy that covers my tummy but little more than my nipples. For my last pregnancy, I just used the binkin top--I'm a bit more self-conscious this time around. (And on the bottom, a skirted panty from Target. Writing this, I fear that I sound like a total prude--part of it is that I do water aerobics, so I don't want to chance anything slipping out of place.) |
Ditto the pps-- go to Target. |
def target |
Belly dance Maternity has a good selection online. I just bought a "prego babydoll halter" that's supposed to be more supportive and has a bit more coverage than the usual bathing suits out there. |
I got a nice tankini top at target just a few weeks ago - 36DD here and it supported me fine while at a waterpark! |
Thanks so much everyone for the great advice! I see a couple of good options at Target. Do you know if I buy a couple of sizes online, can I take the ones that don't fit back to the store? Thanks! |

Try this one, its super cute and the designer is a local mom. |
Target -- the Liz Lange ones are greaet |
I just wore a bikini and watched the entire pool area figure it out. FWIW, I would NEVER dare wear a two-piece usually. But, with the basketball belly full of baby boy? Why. Not!!! It felt fantastic. |
PP love your post. I actually only wear bikinis and I'm thinking of skimping on maternity bathingsuits and just wwearning the bikini...problem is I will only be 3 months pregnant in June so I might just look super fat so I'm not sure what to do! |
I'm in a similar position to the OP but am looking more for swimsuit that's good for swimming laps (as opposed to recreation/hanging out by the pool). Any suggestions? |
This is so cute! I just worry I will only wear it once - do you think these things fit post-baby? I am going on a trip in May that requires a bathing suit (I'm due early August), but otherwise, I don't ever go to the pool. Thoughts? |
Try the Prego Maternity Empire Tank (http://tummystyle.com/products/Prego-Maternity-Black-Empire-Tank~1337.html ) It provides a lot of bust support and is really good maternity swimsuit. |
