At what point in the pregnancy do they generally appear? |
Up until delivery day. |
Personally, mine came right at the very end. Right at the point when I thought I was home free. I have heard this from other women as well, but you can certainly, certainly get them early on as well. |
resurrecting this thread bc I'm having the same issue at 15:09 - due any day and just developed stretch marks over the last week or so. they're on the front of my stomach, not the sides, and they're awful! anyone get them this late? do they go away? |
* as 15:09, sorry |
mine started appearing at about 6 months, you can't do anything to prevent them. I've been using this oil from the Belli product line which I think has made a big difference in getting them to look lighter. But I've been slathering that stuff on since day one, have had very moderate weight gain, and still got them. I think if you're going to get them, you're just going to get them. I have like the whitest, thinnest, skin on the planet so I'm not surprised. I already had them on my boobs from puberty. |
i didnt notice them until after i delivered my first, they were hiding underneath my tummy and in my inner thighs (i never could have imagined...)
err, they don't go away. they fade a bit...but dont disappear. i tried mederma stretch mark cream as well, to no avail. |
I didn't get any. Lots of women don't. It's mostly genetics. |
I got crushed with SM in puberty. All over. Things, hips, breasts, calves. I would check my stomach every morning when I was pregnant since I was sure they would eventually show up. I gained about 30 lbs and was late, but they never showed up on my stomach. I have heard of people getting them as the weight comes off too. I did use Bio Oil 2x a day, but I really don't think that had anything to do with preventing them. Good luck. Maybe you won't get them! |
I didn't get any either. |
Same here. I got them in the last week when the baby dropped ![]() |
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crossing my fingers that they don't come...I mean, can being a woman be any more fun? I still have penis envy! |
38 weeks. |
Right after I delivered the baby... I thought I was home free. But they aren't that bad and definitely faded over time.
|
First pregnancy, didn't get any until 38 weeks, on the lower part of the belly and right above the pubic area. Second pregnancy, got a whole bunch early on, around 24-26 weeks. They were big and ugly and red/purple. I was highly put out. But they faded after a while. Third pregnancy, you can see the old ones from last time (still faded but more noticeable), but I haven't gotten any new ones yet, at almost 32 weeks now. I think it partially has to do with how fast you're gaining weight -- both times when I got them it was at a point in pregnancy when I was gaining weight quickly. |
