Health and Medicine
| I'm almost 3 months post partum and have been experiencing joint pain and stiffness especially in my fingers/hands, toes/feet, ankles. My legs, feet, and hands also get tingly and so does my upper back. Anyone else experienced this? I've read that it could be a hormone imbalance, caused by prolactin from breastfeeding, vitamin deficiency, but nothing conclusive. I'm setting up an appointment with my GP next week but wanted to know if anyone's been through this. |
| I had that too -- it went away slowly over time. I'm not sure what it was -- I know your joints get looser predelivery, so it may just be everything returning to normal. |

same here
gone now almost like a form carpal tunnel |
| How long did it take for the pain and tingling to go away? |
| What do you mean by tingling in your upper back? I've had a spot that tingles near my left shoulder blade since my first pregnancy, which was three years ago. It just happens from time to time and if I put my hand there, it stops. I've asked my OB, GP, and even a chiropractor I was seeing. No real answers, but no real concern from any of them. Just curious... |
lasted about a year Exercise helped, massages, too |
I think this is the result of a bruised nerve -- I have it too. It's been explained to me that during pregnancy or delivery, a nerve can get bruised, particularly if you had a C Section. Over time the feeling has lessened but it's still there a bit. (It's been nine years!) |
| I get tingling from stress..was worried I had every awful disease under mankind and had every test out there and finally had to accept that it was stress--you may be dealing with this also as having a baby..is wonderful..but stressful. |
| Did you have an epidural, OP? |
| I had severe joint pain after the birth of my son. It took almost a year but I was finally diagnosed with Celiac. I went gluten free and have been fine. |
| I thought I had fibromyaligia! I was in chronic pain and it felt like it was in all my joints. Mine finally went away after about 6-9 months, but I would see your doctor just to make sure nothing autoimmune is going on. |
