Infertility Support and Discussion

I had PCOS but I guess it resolved after the birth of my DC. I got pregnant for a second time on the first try but resulted in a stillborn. Now I am TTC, have been trying for about three months. Just started my period, so very depressed! A number of friends are pregnant, or new mom's and I have tried to stay up beat about it but its really getting me down now. Should I be seeing a doctor for help with conception. My OB is not concerned and is willing to wait for about a year. I don't want to wait. I have been spent better part of the year being scared to being pregnant and now that I am ready to try again, I can't get pregnant. Its just so frustrating!!! I see babies every where!!!!!!!!
Please recommend your high risk OBGYN. Thanks |

So very sorry for the loss of your baby. What happened?
I would see an RE to rule out the pcos, and a high risk Ob once you do get pregnant (schedule a consult now, I recommend dr. Sarah poggi at inova Alexandria) Good luck! |
| So very sorry for your loss. If you are still young (under 35), I would wait and keep trying naturally first. I think after the terrible tragedy you went through perhaps it's worth seeing a doctor who would help you heal emotionally first? I went through a miscarriage and it took me a while to get over it. |

So sorry for your loss. 3 months as long as it can seem is actually not that long in terms of TTC. but, there's no harm in seeing an OB or RE if your insurance pays for it (esp. if you are over 35). i wouldn't wait a year but more like 6 months. you might try "taking charge of your fertility" for advice.
good luck. |

Try conceiving naturally and the most important thing is have positive attitude. Go on some vacation with your partner if possible and live the life without stress of not getting pregnant. That will help you a lot. 3 months time is not enough to give up the hope unless your age is on higher side. Consult a good OBGYN take the advise and work accordingly under his/her supervision. OP here, I am 33 years so I guess age is not an immediate issue but will be soon. I just assumed after the ease with which I conceived my second child, getting pregnant would be a lot easier. Its almost a year since I lost my son. It's taken a long time to get to this point where I am ready to have a baby again. But now, it seems like I am ovulating but just can't seem to get pregnant. I ordered pre seed, will try that this month.
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. |
| Do you know what happened with your second pregnancy? We know of someone who had a healthy first pregnancy and then a stillborn on second and the doc said it was an anomoly so they went on to have a third without extra testing and then had another stillborn. It was at that point they went to a specialist who found out that there was something with the mom where if the fetus emplanted on the wrong side, it would result in a stillbirth--they obviously wished they had gone on for testing after the first stillbirth because they were able to find a solution and could have saved the heartache. The good news in this sad story is that..they got the correct treatment and they had another pregnancy and this one was successful. So..I think you should definitely see a high risk person and go from there..do not just assume it was an anomoly--there is no downside to getting extra info. Good luck to you! |
| OP here, PP can you please specify if you know what test they took to find out where the fetus implanted. We have had extensive testing done and everything was normal. We were given the green light to try again. There is just one last test that is a long shot. The one in which they run dye thru your tubes to see if there is any blockage. I don't want to get this test done as I feel like this is an over kill. Especially in light of the first successful pregnancy. If you could please tell me what test your friends had, that would really help. I could not suffer another loss!!!!! |
