Just curious, why the anonymity?

So, I definitely understand why people would post anonymously on certain threads (confessions, etc.) and categories (sex and relationship issues, etc.) but why the anonymity on pretty much everything else, right down to the least controversial and blandest posts and threads. I'm genuinely curious about the mindset behind it and I would be interested to hear people's reasons why. The baby is taking an extra long nap this morning, so apparently I have too much time on my hands to wonder about these things.

because it's a pain to log in and off if you keep switching between talking about naps and wild sex.
why take the chance and make a mistake? |

| I have a user name. But my computer logs me off every time I exit ... so for me, it's laziness... Too lazy to keep logging back on every time I go online... |
