Preschool in Rockville or Clarksville

Anonymous
Hi, my daughter is 4 yrs old. She just turned to 4. Currently she's in daycare. she'll go to kinder next year.
In my thought, she's too old to stay in day care until she go to kinder, so I'm looking for another preschool or montessori.
I'm a single mom. So, she needs after school program also.
I already visited to several schools in Rockville and Bethesda area. It's too expensive. I can cover up to $1,500 per month.
Can you recommend good school for her? Usually the due to apply is Mar. So, I need to hurry up.
Many thanks for your info in advance!

Although it's in Silver Spring, Winchester School might work for you (it's REALLY close to Rockville, I think less than a mile). It's not montessori, but it does fit into your price range (this year is $1025 per month, which includes the hours 7:30am to 6pm).

Do you mean Clarksburg or Clarksville?

Seneca Academy in Darnestown (close to the northern part of Rockville and further south than Clarksburg) has an open house tomorrow for its preschool. For 10 months, it's about $1,500 a month, but you'll have to start paying tuition in July for September, so you might have to double up on day care and preschool costs for a couple of months.

Goddard School in Gaithersburg is more preschool like, even though it's a day care.

16:55 again. I also really love the 5s teacher at Kindercare on Crabbs Branch. That class is small and has a preschool curriculum that's meant for redshirted kids and other late birthday kids who won't start kindergarten until they are closer to six years old. You can enroll there any time if there are vacancies. It would be under $1,200 a month for full time care.

I'd look at ECC in Rockville. It is very inexpensive and a very nice, small school.

I really appreciate all responses. My working place is in College Park, so I should consider the distance b/w work and home. Otherwise she should use morning and late afternoon program b/c of the traffic.
Currently we're living in Beltsville which is not good for us. There is no many fun things for her. So, I want to move more big community.
I've searched her school last several months by less info. Recently I knew this web. I'm so glad to get your responses. I hope we can find good place and school. Thank you very much!!!

There aren't many preschools in Clarksville -- most in Howard County are in Ellicott City or Columbia. But Columbia Academy is fabulous if it's near enough for you.

Isn't there a Friends school in College Park? That might work. There's also an early childhood center at UMd, but I've heard that's hard to get into unless you're faculty or staff.

I'm 16:18, and we live in Gaithersburg but DH works in College Park - Winchester School that I mentioned is on his commute (which was one reason why we chose it).
