Organic Breastmilk

Anonymous
I have a 3 month old and enough breast milk for two babies... I eat only organic foods, am super healthy and have already filled our freezer with my over-supply. I hate for the BM to go to waste. What are my options?

Thanks!

Congrats on your baby and kudos for BFing. As for your over-supply there are lots of options out there but here's one:

You can donate it to a milk bank. You'll have to google for the name and address of the milk banks. I know there is one in NC (Chapel Hill?) and have forgotten where the second one is located.
If you contact an LC they should be able to give you more specifics.

That is awesome your supply is so abundant and you want to put it all to good use. Congrats too on the baby.

There is a yahoo group called milkshare where people can donate and receive. I know there is a woman on there that just recently adopted a baby son in the area who is looking for milk. This is a good site because the milk banks I looked into sold for profit which I though was very unfair to those that need the milk.
