| It's hard enough exercising your kids in bad weather but the dog really really needs it. Especially when the weather has been bad for days. Just running a couple of laps around the block doesn't seem to do the trick. Are there any covered dog parks out there? |

Not that I know of. there may be some indoor dog parks around though.
We just bundle up and/or use an umbrella and do our usual walks. We may decrease the frequency or length if the weather is really bad. |
| Honestly? We do shorter walks and then play tons of stair-fetch. It's not for everyone, but our boy loves it. |

Mom of two children plus a golden retriever and a lab here. The best thing I ever did was invest in serious rain gear from LL Bean. We're talking rain pants, rain boots, totally water proof parka, the works. I did the same with winter gear, and now I never get cold or wet, no matter what the weather. The dogs and children go out rain, shine, sleet, hail, etc. If the dogs need to go out and run - and they do, for their sanity and mine! - then I need to go with them, and the children go where I go. Unless you have a breed of dog with a thin coat, they should be fine in bad weather - ours love the rain and snow, and the muddier they are, the happier they are.

LOL! Stair fetch, I love it. I used to do this too, but didn't have a cool name for it. I also increased the frequency of walks if I could, even though they were much shorter. |
| We take our two labs to Sniffers Doggie Depot in Rockville once or twice a week in the winter. They come home dog tired after a day of playing with other dogs. |
