How do you get yourself out of a super (and I mean SUPER) bad mood?

Chocolate and red wine. And, as you let the chocolate melt on your tongue, don't let anyone talk to you.

I listen to something loud and hard, like Metallica. One or two songs and the bad mood evaporates. Then I put on something more mellow and relax.

I have two words for you: Barry White. Really, that voice will transport you. Plan B: Take a walk and look at the gorgeous fall colors. PlanC: get out all your make-up and play for 15 minutes.

I had a shitty day that started with the baby waking up every hour on the hour improved with the no water and jackhammering of the plumbers fixing a burst pipe and ended with the toddler throwing up on himself on the ride home from my mother's. I walked around in a near murderous fog all day.

The only thing that made me feel better at all was listening to El Debarge.

When I went through a particularly cranky patch last year, I forced myself to look on the bright side of life, Monty Python style, by asking others on DCUM to post their complaints so I could reinterpret them in an absurdly optimistic fashion. Worked well - snapped me right out of that funk - and I should probably try it again soon, as my mood has been a bit rough around the edges as of late.

Another fun one: hitting things, namely a punching bag. Music, boxing gloves, heavy bag - great stress relief. I think I will put that on the agenda for tomorrow, as a matter of fact!
