I am upgrading from a queen bed to a king so I need to buy all new sheets, duvets, and duvet covers. What are your favorites? I want to buy quality sheets but I’m not interested in spending a ton. |
The company store when on sale. I buy all white most of the time so everything matches no matter the origins. My favorite were Ralph Lauren from Bloomingdale’s we got for our wedding. Lasted 10 years before threadbare and holes from sharp toenails (grr on DH) |
Following, because I need all new stuff too. I'm looking at Company Store and Brooklinen. Fwiw, here is a NYT Wirecutter article, which I think was updated this week: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-cotton-sheets/ |

I buy sheets frequently because I like them crisp and bright white, and the naked guy sleeping on them makes them dingy.
I like Threadmill 500 count damask stripe. On Amazon. They’re inexpensive, nice and smooth, all cotton of course, and fit well. For as much of a princess as I am about my sheets, they’re an incredible bargain. |
I don’t understand why people will say “I don’t want to spend a ton” and not just say their budget. Everyone has a different idea of that. And then if someone posts $500 sheets, someone will jump down their throat even though there are also $1000 sheets and it’s all relative.
But anyway, the target threshold performance sheets are great. |
Yeah, I've done that before. "I don't want to spend a ton" meaning I have an idea in my head of what the item should cost, and I don't want to go for overpriced brand names. And then I get here, and I realize that some people think that only dogs sleep on anything less than pure organic silk at $1200 a set. |
Cozy Earth. I cringe at the price, but they really do hold up and keep me cooler (surgical menopause sucks) |
I like the Target Threshold organic percale. The first ones lasted around 8 years before the top sheet started to fall apart at the stitching, then we repurchased. They do go on sale periodically. |
+1 for Cozy Earth - my 50+ husband loves these sheets too.(and we have had a lot of trial and error with sheets over the years) |

Redland sheets- thick percale if you like crisp- cool cotton. |
Really? This would be worth it. Not OP, but need new sheets and get so damned hot at at night ... |
I had a set about that age fr them that I love too. Just bought a replacement sent from RL and they are sewn really weirdly (fabric is sewn in diagonal at head and foot) and fabric is not very soft. So disappointing. |
I used to recommend these all the time but the quality is not as good as it used to be. Instead, my new recommendation is Pact Organic Room Service sheets. |
