Where are all the young people?

Where are the young people? They're more likely to brown and not interested in being deported even if legally in the country.

Hopefully that isn't accurate.

Re Pittsburgh, demographics might be the explanation. Pittsburgh’s population of residents age 65 is the largest among all benchmark regions, and is growing. From 2017 to 2018, the older population increased 0.5 percentage points from 19.5 to 20 percent

Honestly I think it’s fear. A bunch of old retired people have less to lose than a young person.

No really, that was a lot of why I didn't protest: Even though I'm a natural-born citizen, born to citizens, its become abundantly clear that I'd still be in danger of getting rounded up and sent to a country that I have no ties to. And I'd be leaving my young children, my career, and all of my assets behind.

Look at the leadership of team D. Boomers everywhere. Just fought off an attempt to get some younger perspectives in the DNC.

We're looking at the Andropov era for America. The old guard doesn't trust younger people to take over, so they'll hold on to power way past when they should.

Someone said it’s 60s and 70s hippies who are just looking for a reason to return to their protest youth “glory days.”

Right? Anything to de-legitimize the protests or the strength and breadth of people's anger. I see a lot of downplaying and minimizing the protests on Twitter. They can't admit that they are the fringe minority. Surely everyone must believe the same as them, that makes the lawlessness okay, justifies the means.

Yep. Hilarious considering the next thread down right now is on the president's evident dementia.

Young people have kids and most parents don't want to bring children that a protest that might get violent (from either agitators or aggressive LEOs).

At the ICE protest in LA, everyone was either young or elderly. They have the time to protest.

Exactly this. They’re bored and want to seem like they’re rebelling against “the man” even though most of the people in that video probably have millions in their 401k accounts and are living a comfortable UMC life. They feel guilty about becoming “the man.”

It’s basically all of Dcum.

Thats a weird take but even if true, most of the people 30-40s have kids. Its summer. Everyone is scrambling and stressed. I won't take my kids to a protest with the violence and/or risk of military presence/police militarization. Numbers are 5million conservative, likely more than 10million across the country.
Regardless, I am glad to see those over 60 as a major component because they vote.
People showed up. In red states, blue status, small cities, urban areas, etc.

???
There were lots of kids and young people at the various protests around the DMV.
What a weird and inaccurate statement.
