Didn't you read the letter? All that "training" increases scores! I was a teacher--not in FCPS. When we got new textbooks/programs, we were given a teachers' manual. Done. Occasionally, the vendor might come and give us an hour or two pep talk. So, will all this "training" be a repeat of last year's training? I don't know about FCPS teachers, but my colleagues and I enjoyed a teacher work day from time to time. However, what we didn't like was having meetings. These people are clueless. Kids nended to be in school and they need consistency. And, scheduling specials must be really fun for these people. For that matter, what do the music and art teachers do while the classroom teachers are being trained? |
