Anyone know of a good bi-lingual (English-Spanish) nursery program in NW DC or Silver Spring, MD |
I don't know of a bilingual one, but DC attends a Spanish immersion daycare in NW DC called Mi Palacio. It's in the Brightwood area of DC off of Blair Rd/Ga Ave. |
Tiny Wonders is on New Hampshire Ave I am not sure it that is Silver Spring or Adelphi. It's REALLY inexpensive but out of the way for me. |
CentroNia in Columbia Heights
Barbara Chambers also in Columbia Heights |
Maria`s Child daycare. It`s in North Capitol St and Michigan Av. 20002. mariaschilddaycare@gmail.com

Kids Corner on California Street, NW is a dual language program, excellent daycare/school in a nice neighborhood, in the basement of Our Lady of the Americas. Lot of embassy kids go there. Just west of Connecticut between Woodley and Dupont.
Also check out Rosemount in Mount Pleasant neighborhood of DC, I've got two friends who moved their toddlers there, they love it. It is convenient to Rock Creek Parkway if you get off at Porter. |
I would not recommend Kids Corner unless you like plastic toys and a dark muggy basement. Besides this we did the tour where the lady said there was enough space and we can sign up right away, then had to talk to the administrator whom immediately presumed we didn't have money and was illegal, she discriminated us and told us there was no room and to call back in the summer. Not worth it if people treat the parents like that imagine how they see your kids. |
My child's preschool, Norbeck Montessori is starting a spanish immersion program in the fall. It's in Rockville so not sure if it's out of the way for you. |
De Colores on 3rd st nw and on sheridan street |
FYI I have been on a wait list for over a year at kids corner so I highly doubt you weren't given a spot immediately because of prejudice. I imagine you misunderstood what the tour guide meant by sign up. I thought it was quite a nice facility. |
That a pretty strong charge, PP. What made you think that the administrator thought that of you? From looking for day care spots in 2008, 2009, and 2010, it's my understanding that Kids Corner has been full (to the point of not taking people's names for the wait list) for quite some time. |
