Title says it all. What is your go-to semi-fashionable option for those bone cold rainy days where a puffer/fleece/wool wouldn’t work? This is for DC. TIA! |
I wear long underwear under my clothes and then my rain jacket (same one I wear in summer). If it's very cold I'll layer a wool sweater and a pair of fleece lined pants as well. Add waterproof gloves and a beanie under my hood if necessary. |
I have a short quilted Barbour jacket with a hood, and a longer similar quilted coat with a removable hood — both in black. I also wear a hat and gloves, and carry an umbrella. |
Barbour with hood. |
Another Barbour wearer here. Beaufort, Bedale, and Northumbria with a vest liner underneath. |
I have and love this jacket:

Barbour isn't ugly but it doesn't seem fashionable, sorry. |
I layer under my rain jacket that has room in the arms for a long sleeve sweater. I bought it years ago at H&M. The fabric isn't waterproof because I hate plasticky jackets that get sweaty. |
Are the waxed jackets waterproof? |
you need a thing called a winter rain coat. people in the UK have them. |
Yes, but you have to re-wax them to keep them that way. |
