They work great for the problem you describe.

I use suave detangler for kids and it works on my daughter's hair.

I also started using my shampoo/conditioner for her hair and the combing it in the morning has been better. Just don't rinse out all the conditioner.

My curly haired daughter only gets shampooed once a week. Conditioner in all other nightly baths. Johnsons and johnsons leave-in conditioner after. Brush. In the morning I brush it with the help of a suave kids or Loreal kids spray detangler. Ponytails help reduce daytime tangling. Good luck!

I also use Suave detangler. Works very well.

We squirt with a detangler/leave in conditioner. We've used Johnnson & Johnson's, Suave Kids, and Aussie. Only difference seems to be the fragrance. We only shampoo once a week. Braids and ponytails help. Brushing before bed helps. And I told DD if she wants it past her shoulders she has to brush it herself (or at least try) twice a day. She asked for a haircut last weekend and it is back to chin-length.

I used to have hair just below my waist and it would get big knots where I used a band to pull it back. Johnson's No more tangles would help as well as getting a large hairclip to keep it back rather than a band. Scrunchies did not work well since my hair was too fine and they would slip off. Braiding would help also.
