? i know it's wood and silverware- but - realistically- what can i get- have you heard of any good ideas? |
What's your budget? |
we just had ours and i got DH a hand painted wood frame with a picture of our wedding in it. he really like it! got the frame at south moon under of all places, but i've seen lots of interesting wood frames and sculptures around. |
Open- not thousands- but a couple of hundred ok (given I've been lame on past years).. |
How about a tree? Any sentimental trees - like one that he had in his college courtyard, or from a place where you used to date, or the same kind that's in his parents yard that he climbed as a kid? |
Can't do a tree since we're planning on buying a larger house (we actually did have the number of children we wanted to- it wasn't looking that way when we bought). |
For our last anniversary (our sixth) I booked a babysitter and a night at the Marriott. They have a romance package, very, very awesome. |
it isn't very permanent but i bought my husband an ipod and if you buy it at apple they engrave it. he uses it everyday so he certainly appreciates it more than other more conventional gifts. |
If he golfs, you could do a set of clubs (they have "woods")
Perhaps a beautiful piece of furniture - either a bedside table for him or a coffee table. A really nice wooden frame plus a photo-session with a good photographer for the whole family |

A nice, hip pair of cufflinks. I think they were stainless steal, not silver, but close enough. ![]() |
Appalachian Spring has beautiful wood boxes - I bought my husband one for his watch, cufflinks, etc. They're in the $150 range depending on size. |
Totally not keeping with tradition, but I got my husband a GC to Red Door for a massage. He loved it!
