A club in Virginia is now offering free rec soccer. I hope this catches on and more clubs do it. I would be glad to have my kids wear uniforms covered with corporate logos in order to reduce costs. Bravo |
What's with the tease? Who is this club, and where are they?? |
I saw that same ad, it was FCV and free rec was sponsored by a car dealer. |
Yes that was it. I saw the ad on FB and couldn’t remember the club https://www.fcvirginia.com/recsoccer |
Rec soccer shouldn't be free. But travel soccer shouldn't be so expensive, or expansive. |
FC Virginia’s website is pretty bad. I have not heard anything good about their rec program or boys travel program so would rather pay for a better organized program with a better reputation. |
Isn’t it wonderful that you are able to afford to pay for the program you choose? Not everyone has that luxury and some have to go with the free one with a bad website. |
Would you rather I lie to you? I agree with another poster about rec programs should be cheaper than they are, but I would rather pay for a program that is well organized and has field locations listed so I know I can actually get to the practices. If I don’t know where in the area the field is then how do I know if we can make the times. Some of us work so driving all over the area to get to a practice might not be possible. |
There are and have been lower cost competitive soccer options. After tilting at this windmill for a while, my conclusion is the market is roughly providing what the youth soccer consumers want. If the consumer wants many high level prestige tournaments, full time soccer professionals, nice uniform kits etc - that all costs money. |
