Alexandria Super Y

I see that they are going to have at least one girls' Super Y team. Anyone know if they are planning on fielding teams beyond that? My son plays elsewhere, but the location could be a good option for him for the summer.

Talking about SUPER-Y. The profileration of teams announcing that they're holding tryouts IMHO means that they're looking at it as a recruiting tool. Remember how teams pushed up tryouts to April to get a leg up on other teams, so players had to committ early well now they have a glimpse of the talent available in Jan-Feb and get their name out there. .. Marketing 101.

Eh, I know a lot of people aren't into Super Y, but both my son and daughters (only one of whom still plays soccer) have done it in the past and enjoyed it. To each their own.

Super Y is definitely used for marketing and recruiting just like winter futsal. It’s also a time for some fun off-season training. I wish there were summer futsal instead of Super Y because outdoor games in July are miserable

My kid plays winter futsal but prefers soccer so we sign him up for Super Y.

The heat wasn’t that much of a factor, since most games were played in the morning, and practices were in the evenings.

In fact, the winter futsal team is half outdoors (half of the practices and half of the games are on outdoor courts) and his soccer team has been running outdoor practices as well; those bitter cold events are more of a challenge than summer morning/evening weather in my opinion!

Where? A while back, one of my girls did an outdoor futsal skills thing in Alexandria over the summer, but it wasn't games, just skills practice. It wasn't bad, but she said it wasn't as much fun as playing against opponents. Is there an organization that offers the opportunity for summer games, as well as skills training?

Where are you located? You can find an actual futsal club. Va united, metro united, there used to be a dc hyper futsal, intensity futsal in MD. Check out the competition teams at the local tournaments. Others may know more- my DC prefers summer soccer, they just do futsal to bridge gaps.
