If I had a daughter, I'd give Allison Diaz @ MRM and St. Johns College HS a go with training and development.

Clubs have already started having ID sessions for this age group for next season. It seems to start earlier every year. It’s a competitive age for clubs to get players to switch as they start playing 11x11 and ECNL/GAL begins. I would suggest not listening to the negative comments from the vocal few on here and form your own opinions as you check out these clubs.

Bethesda parent here. FWIW, we practice 3 days a week in Bethesda, bookended by two other Bethesda teams' practices. We also practice at Rockville high schools just north of Bethesda and have had some practices at the Soccerplex in Germantown in past seasons.

Another consideration you may want to consider is that Bethesda ECNL is part of the North Atlantic Conference and VA Union, Loudoun, Arlington are all part of the Mid-Atlantic Conference. Bethesda will do more traveling as there are only 3 ECNL clubs in the state of MD, the rest are in PA and NJ. The VA teams have to make trips out to NC and SC once a season but have 4 teams in Northern VA and Richmond United is 1 ½ - 2 hours away.

Bethesda is top in the area, looking at YSR they've had close games with SYC their last 4 match ups show a 0-3 loss, a 6-2 win, a 1-1 tie and a 2-0 win. They had their ID sessions in December so spots most likely are limited, but if your daughter is good, I'm sure they'll find a spot.

SYC, a notch below will make up the majority of the VA Union ECNL team's core as McLean is as someone else mentioned not as strong. The 2009 VA union team has a roster size of 16 so, not that large for 11v11 in my opinion. SYC is also the only team in this list that has been playing 11v11 in EDP's 2009 age group this fall.

Loudoun is also very good, but looks like OP has eliminated them so won't go into detail there.

Arlington's 2010's are weaker than their 09's and 11's and will need some outside players added to be competitive in ECNL next year. Their DOC also is leaving and was very good.

FCV should not even be a consideration, their 2010's have been beaten by Vienna, VSA and Arlington in ECNL-RL (they play as Villarreal). They'll also probably lose their best players to Loudoun ECNL next season.

BRYC's 09's had a GD last season of -56 I believe with 0 goals scored. The 2010 age group is also not very strong either, with a long list of losses and only wins against what appear to be 2nd and 3rd teams. Unless they merge with FCV or Vienna as has been mentioned in another thread which would make them stronger they should also not be considered.

OP I highly suggest you do not choose a club based on YSR rankings of teams of 11-12 year olds. A good number of the girls on these teams will not even be playing soccer by high school, and a good number will change clubs once or twice. Far more important are the coaches, style of play that might fit your daughter, and location/travel considerations. I would have her tryout with as many as possible even if they are too far geographically, just to have more of a comparison to help make a decision.

I know someone who plays for Allison. Allison has her favorites and is very biased for a few girls. There are much better coaches for technical development.

Someone clearly doesn’t like the new 2010 coach.

Considering the post was from 2022 it doesn’t appear as if there was any rumors about it. The DOC and the Girls ECNL director both changed. One was an internal promotion and the other was an outside hire. A little strange to dig into the past and make false statements.

The part talking about Metro being an option did not age well

This post is a good reminder to ignore these people who are so sure that how teams at u11 play is any indication of how the teams will look even just 2 or 3 years later. This board is filled with predictions of the demise of clubs that hasn’t happened, declarations of championship teams at u12 that turned sour by u14. I would love someone to take the time and pull out the best cold takes from this forum.

OP, did your player end up with BSC and how is it going? Would be helpful to get your perspective after living the local soccer scene for a year.
