Bethesda doesn’t practice in Bethesda. |
Arlington does have a strong 2010 girls group. These kids were killing it even at U littles. (McLean parent here) |
Stop it. Many practices are at Walter Johnson HS, which is in Bethesda. Other practices could be at Wootton or Richard Montgomery, which is in Rockville about 5-10 minutes away from Bethesda border. A few teams have also practice at Soccerplex in Germantown, which is a bit more of a hike but has the best fields in the region. |
Here is that link: https://www.gotsport.com/asp/directors/tournament/vieweventteamscleanb.asp?EventID=83987&Group=Girls_12 |
Probably a better idea to see how they do, no? |
They are still ulittles. |
Not an ECNL club but has stronger teams right now- consider Alexandria if it is convenient to where you are going to live |
You’ll see most of the talented Alexandria kids leave for more competitive clubs over the next two years. |
Seriously it does not matter at the u littles. The fit is more important vs the record. About 1/2 the strong clubs at this age are not trying to win with tactical adjustments or scouting. What do the older teams look like? Will your kid fit that system. |
OP should take everything written here with a grain of salt. There are many toxic parents who like to trash other clubs. What’s good for one player may not be good for another. Your DD can have success at any of these clubs. Her success will be more due to her own efforts than the club. Attend some trainings, watch some games especially the older ages to see how the teams play and how the coaches act. There is a lot of club movement in this area. Team rosters at U12/13 can change quite a bit by U15/16. |
Their 2010 girls are not very good, certainly not in the same class as the other clubs being mentioned. You might want to look at SYC, their 2010 girls are very good. A notch below Bethesda |
SYC 2010 won’t be a team after this year so going to syc wouldn’t make any sense. |
There 2009 team is in a higher Jeff Cup bracket than some teams mentioned here? |
Jefferson cup bracket is not a good metric. |
I would stay away from FCV. Unstable. BSC and McLean are the clubs with the wealthiest parents. Some are ugly people. Take that for what it is worth. Arlington is upcoming but not established. BRYC is on the downswing. No easy answer. |
