Does spot training work? I have heard differeing opinions. If I lift weights and do arm excercises will I see a difference? If not, what do you all recommend for a slimmer arms? I have a summer wedding to go to with a sleeveless bridesmaid dress and I want to look presentable! TIA. |
Depends. Do you have relatively thin arms, but they are just lacking in definition? If so, arms exercises will build up your arm muscles and give them definition, which will help but will not eradicate all underarm flab. Do you have extra fat in your arms that is consistent with a need to lose 15 or more pounds overall? If so, then arms exercises will give you developed muscles that line beneath the flab, but will do little to eradicate the flab. The muscle definition underneath my slight reduce the jiggle, but probably won't give you the results you are looking for. If you have flabby arms and need to lose weight, you need to lose weight to reduce the arm flab.

Planks, dips, chaturanga holds, boxing and push ups (regular and pilates style) are all good for arm sculpting. |
Anyone have slightly chubby arms despite being thin? I have skinny legs, no hips, no butt, and arm fat. I am 5'2 110 lbs. Sucks ass. |
Yep, I'm thin with chubby arms. It doesn't look so bad anywhere except at my elbows. I can't figure out what to do and honestly if it took more than five minutes a day, I don't think I could fit it in. But, I am having trouble with the flab. |
Sorry, not much you can do about the flabs. Exercise does not help. It's hereditary, I think.
I already have the flabby upper arms, droopy skin between the elbow and wrist. And to complete the look, I am getting fat around the arm pit/upper side area. You know, the matronly look. Hello middle ages! |
