This is Blair House. Can't get much more traditional.

For the "just call Bunny" person in that other thread (thank you for that laugh!), this is where an article says she has Christmas dinner...her "barn."

I wonder if there's a shift going on right now? I usually gravitate towards super traditional images that have big trees and lots of garlands, but I'm finding simpler decor more appealing right now? I still like traditional...just not where it becomes maximalism? Maybe it has something to do with the times?

Lol I was the just call Bunny person and I feel compelled to point out that I’m pretty sure the picture is actually of the porch off the main house oh my god what am I doing with my life.

I think it’s because simple is better for when you’re just home with immediate family. More is great for wonderful parties, which we are not having.

We are going simple this year. Minimal decorations, gifts, meals, etc.

Also we had to get a mini tree because we couldn't find a regular size one near us.

NOT A JOKE JUST NORMAL PEOPLE DISCUSSING THE LAYOUT OF BUNNY WILLIAMS'S HOUSE AND "BARN" LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE DO

The "just call Bunny" comment was in a thread in which someone was asking for names of area designers who have traditional style. Of course, people needed to know what budget the OP was thinking of before making suggestions.

Here's the funny post: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1020035.page#21459470

No, she probably just put tasteful bows on all the little topiaries. Everyone would get drunk on gross gin cocktails but behave exactly the same.

(Her gardens are beautiful I’m just sniping because I want my own private airstrip)

Sigh, you’re right. I bet if I walked in it would become a porch just from my presence bringing the standard down.
