We went to the BH in Tyson's and, I have to say, it was a wonderful choice for us. I found all her caregivers to be truly caring and my daugher enjoyed it immensely. Everything there is very high quality - the toys/equipment, the food, the management. Before she went full-time, we also used thier backup care, which was provided by my employer, and we had a very positive experience with that part of the program as well. I would not hesitate to send her there again.

Maybe you could be a bit more specific with your question--you can general info about their "services" on the BH web site...

I"m particularly interested in any insight on the BH locations at the IDB, FERC or the NSF. I understand they're open to the general public too. If anyone has used these locations and can tell me what their experience was like, I'd appreciate it.

My baby is at the USPTO Bright Horizons. It is wonderful. The infant teachers work very hard and really care about all the babies. It is very clean and organized. The babies are nurtured and safe and stimulated. The ratio in VA is 1:4 but the real ratio is almost always much better than that because not all the babies come everyday and they don't offer part-time care.

Sorry, what is the USPTO?
Also, did you have to get on waiting list to join this particular location?

We have been at NSF for 6+ years (two children). If you are interested in an infant/toddler spot, it is very tough to get in unless you are in one of the priority groups (NRECA, NSF, or Federal Government employee). It is a little easier to get in from a "community" (general public) placement for preschool. My child is in the mixed-age preschool classroom and I cannot say enough good things about it!

My son was almost 2 when he was finally offered a spot at NSF and we have priority as federal employees. We got on the list during my first trimester.

I got on the NSF list in my first trimester and was able to have an infant spot when my daughter was 4 months old. My employer (NRECA) has first priority placement. It's a great benefit!

Hi there. Can those of you at NSF and USPTO tell me the rate you pay for infant care? Is it a discounted price for Feds? I'm also just looking around and happened to find this string. I am a Federal employee and live near the Masonic Temple in Alexandria. The location at USPTO would be very convenient. My husband and I are "trying" I wonder if they would let me get on the waiting list without having a documented due date. Any advice is appreciated!

Let me also ask a question about BH. My son is 3 months now and I am planning to put him in daycare at 2yo. We live in McLEan. I am not part of any employer with benefits with BH. I am "general public". What is the rate in BH in MClean and how long would be waiting list from your experience?

Call the BH on Greensboro and ask them the rate. It wouldn't hurt to sign up now. I was there a couple years back - my wait list time was about 9 months. If you sign up now, you can give them your anticipated start date.
