In person exercise classes

Hi all! Anyone know if there are any in-person prenatal workouts available in DC at the moment? Thanks

I’d be interested too except for prenatal yoga. It’s just not my thing.

Why would you do this? Seems unnecessarily risky. There are so many books great live and on demand things you can stream.

NP. Because in person is better. Because new moms will need community and this is a great way to find one. Or, you know, because she wants to.

Orange Theory often makes modifications for pregnant women

Except is a global pandemic, as a pregnant woman you are considered high risk, plenty of pregnant moms are refusing to get vaxxed, and you’re going into an environment where you’ll be breathing heavily, indoors, in close proximity to others who could transmit the virus to you. I guess you’re free to make a selfish choice for your super spreader Orange Theory class but think about the conversation you’ll have with your nurses and doctors if you get COVID and ask yourself if the risk was worth it for what? A little endorphin burst you could have gotten from a walk or a virtual class?

Oh I’m sorry, I have to point out the obvious? You’re pregnant, it’s not about you. And I’m sorry if you’re done with the virus, it’s not done with us. But keep burying your head in the sand, I guess. I’m sure indoor gym is totally on the list of essential places you have to go, and there are just no possible alternatives you could come up with.

If you’re going to just preach and lecture people, why bother going on these forums? Not helpful! Also interested in in-person classes here — thanks OP

Don’t listen to this person. She is likely also the kind of person who buys the giant Costco doomsday kit. I’ve been going to in person classes (with childcare - gasp!) since the spring and it’s incredibly refreshing. My mental health wouldn’t survive without it.

This comment might have made more sense in October/November 2020. But it still would have sounded unnecessarily judgey then, too.

No, it makes sense now. You guys are insane. I gave birth in a mask, I was pregnant and had a newborn Prevaccine, and I will continue to keep my kids and family safe by minimizing risks to myself. I know too many people who got sick with Covid and who died. The vaccine doesn’t make you bulletproof. You can exercise outside or at home. The gym is totally optional. If you think your mental health couldn’t handle skipping the gym, wait until you catch COVID and see how it does then when you realize you got it by doing something entirely unnecessary.

THIS is insane. I didn't come on here to be lectured -- take your lecture elsewhere.
