I was diagnosed with PCOS 4 years ago when we were trying to conceive for the first time. I was on glucophage for awhile and tried clomid to no avail. I joined a gym in Oct 2003 and by Feb 2004 was pregnant (perhaps a miracle). Now, we are ready for #2. I gained 68 lbs with my first pregnancy and have only lost about 30 of that. I went back to my doctor to start the process over. He has been wonderful through everything and I trust him completely. But, after a few months on glucophage and one cycle of clomid, nothing has happened. I know a month is not a long time but since I'm 4 years older now and already have the history, he's not messing around and has ordered clomid and ultrasounds to be followed by an HCG shot in January. I've done some research and haven't found many negatives but a friend of mine in the VA/DC area told me to post my question here. She said it has been very helpful to her. So...has anyone had any experience with the Clomid, ultrasound, HCG treatment? If so, what can I expect? Anything to be hesitant about? My husband is concerned that with the drugs and HCG shot there could be potential consequences to the baby (if we're lucky enough to conceive). Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
