I'm 27 weeks along and have a 2.5 year old. My parents are staying in a condo in Myrtle Beach with a second bedroom/bathroom and invited us (my husband, daughter, and I) along. However, I found out that the bedroom has two twin beds. There is also a downstairs that has a pull out queen size bed. I've had some back problems and realize these aren't optimal sleeping arrangements. I'm just debating if I should save the $, go visit them even for a long weekend just to get away, or stay somewhere else (planning a completely different trip entirely). I'm in such desparate need of a vacation. The rates at the end of March in Myrtle Beach are pretty reasonable. Just wondering others thoughts. The condo my parents are staying at has an indoor heated pool, playground, etc. Just not sure if it's worth compromising the sleep arrangements.

Found out this week my hemoglobin levels are off (I'm 27 weeks) and need to take an iron supplement. Have others had this experience? I've wondered why I have felt so weak and tired during the second trimester unlike my first pregnancy. I thought it was from chasing after a 2-year-old and working full time. I'm glad to know what is wrong. However, I'm wondering what iron rich foods other can recommend? Did anyone take the iron supplements and see a dramatic energy increase from it? If so, how long did it take? I've contemplated starting my maternity leave early (I get 9 months off, 6 months of which is unpaid). That's how tired I've been.

Has anyone had the experience of doing any of these options?

Yes, I agree that finding a home in Takoma Park for 350,000 seems like a stretch. It seems like taking the MARC train from Boyds, Germantown (an hour) or Gaithersburg (45 minutes) might be options. It's a straight shot to Silver Spring and eliminates the horrible commute of sitting in a car. Thanks for all of the suggestions so far.

We are willing to live in a modest home, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom although if we could afford something larger we would prefer to do it. My husband works on Georgia Ave in the "downtown area" of Silver Spring (20910). What zipcodes would you recommend searching under?

I'm planning to stay at home after baby #2 comes in May. My husband works in Silver Spring. We have lived in Falls Church for about 5 years. We are looking for a decent commute for him (Around an hour maximum by train if possible but he will drive if he has to). Looking for homes in the $330,00 to $350,000 max range. I only know of this being possible in the Woodbridge and Manassas areas and he could commute by VRE. What are the options in Maryland?

I'm 21 weeks along with my second baby and have been exposed to the flu this week from my 2-year-old, my mom and husband (both of whom caught it from my 2-year-old). I received the flu shot Wednesday this week. They were not confirmed of the flu until Friday and Saturday. I called my OB to tell them I am at risk of getting it because I have been around all three of them in my house for an entire week. The doctor immediately prescribed tamiflu yesterday and pretty much yelled at me for not getting the flu shot earlier in the flu season. I took it yesterday but I woke up this morning feeling so nervous that I had taken it due to the unknown risks to the baby. We had a 20 week ultrasound last week and the baby looks so healthy and normal...I just wouldn't want to do anything that could cause a risk to her at this point.

Has anyone taken tamiflu during pregnancy? The doctor says the risks of taking it outweigh the risks of me getting the flu and ending up in the hospital with pneumonia.
