Too funny, we are actually from Bryc, they arent hosting the tournament. They are playing in FPYC's tournament like we do every year. It is always Fathers Day weekend, just Sat and Sun.

The other tournament is being run by Valor and they don't have rec soccer, they are just all travel, but running a rec all star tournament, also on Fathers Day weekend. They are really close by to FPYC.

I have never seen the coaches also refereeing in an all star tournament! That sounds nuts. They charge a lot to participate presumably to cover ref fees and still make a profit.

I know this board is almost all club talk, but does anyone know the back story here? Why is a travel org holding a rec all star tournament at all and why are they having it the same weekend as FPYC's rec all star tournament, which is every year on the same weekend? It seems like they would be directly competing for fields, refs, and teams. We are participating in FPYC like usual but I am hoping the older girls teams still have decent competition and have not been deluted between the two options.
