I have a job interview and wondering how much to negotiate for. Salary has already come up in a pre-screen...
The job is a Grant Writer at a nonprofit, raising about $6M of private and government grants at a 150 person organization. Reporting directly to the CDO. I've got 5 yrs exp. Salary.com says $61-67. $70K would be preferable. what do you think?

i'm black, never been called a nigger before... which I'm incredibly grateful for. if it did happen, I'd like to think at first I'd be confused and at the most bemused by it. then laugh it off and pity the person who said it.
i think the historical use of nigger makes it far sharper and hurtful than cracker. however, how about we all just agree that racism is bad, and that you shouldn't be a racist.

I think what you said about the all male, sexist environment is telling. If that's truly it, it's not that he's embarrassed of you, he's actually protecting you! He doesn't want you to become the object of sexual ridicule, nor does he want those guys talking about you behind his back, or worse, while he's standing right there.
if he still wants you to wear it after talking to him, wear something sexy underneath it. You and your DH might enjoy that thought... frumpy on the outside, sexy underneath

Interesting... 40 is an ideal age... actually 42 for some odd reason to me, lol. The sex drive tends to go out of control which always makes things.... interesting.
