I'm adopting a black/brown tabby cat with yellow eyes, male. Ideas for what to name him?
My spouse and I, along with our 8 month old, are headed to Philly. Looking to find a place for a great meal (lunch or dinner) to reserve ahead if needed. Also, if you know of a good bakery, interested in that, also!
I have 2 that I need to use up in the fridge. I meant to roast them over the weekend, and forgot to add them into the mix of other veggies. The other recipe I use them for is in a stirfry, but I don't have the noodles for it, and I am curious about what else to do with them. Suggestions?
I really like their eggplant curry. We serve on rice, or use as a snack/appetizer with naan. I like their precooked sausages, too, which i can slice and cook with sundried tomatoes, marinated artichokes, and pasta. One of my favorite things from TJs has to be their maple pecan cereal. I have it in the morning with coconut or almond milk - yum!
My husband does both drop off and pick up these days, even though his commute is a little longer, because he has way more flexibility with face time at the office. In deciding on daycare options, we chose an in-home daycare who lives just a few streets down. That makes is wonderful bc on days where spouse is traveling or simply can't make it on time, I can just scoop up the kiddo and it isn't out of the way. The key for us is trying to pre as much the night before (our lunches, coffee pot, and baby bag) so mornings we aren't saddled with that. Good luck!
It was cold but crowds were fine. Recommend looking at apartment rentals instead of hotels if you want more space and are hoping to save on accommodations. We loved that NYC had so many restaurant options for thanksgiving day, so hard to choose! New York magazine did a good review of several a couple years back - you can try searching for it on google.
Curious - what do you use it for?
We chose townhouse route (living in Alexandria) bc I wanted to spend less time with maintaining yard and more time getting out about town. We chose a location that is walking distance to the public library, close to numerous public parks, and easy for us to commute. We definitely choose to spend our funds on experiences, and have maintained frequent weekend travels even after the arrival of our little one. Just to toss out a few of townhouse communities I would recommend include Cameron Station (multiple up for sale, and more variety in terms of interior layout), Early Street Villages (2 are up for sale), and Governor's community at Franconia and Governor's Pond Circle (right off Telegraph Rd).

I call your bluff, troll!

Ok that picture is kind of hilarious. Anyway, back to the OP request - reasons why I am not supermom: when baby throws tantrum, I *may* sometimes throw one back at him so he sees how silly it looks. I also let him play (and sometimes chew!) on my iphone when he is particularly fussy.

I make less than my husband, but continue to work because it is personally satisfying, and because I enjoy my work. No matter which way you cut it, parenting is also work and if you want to talk about choices, BOTH of you chose that job - can you just choose to not do it or to do less of it? I think there should be more room to be flexible toward your spouse on this.
If you have their membership, try Costco (instore and online). We were in a similar situation when we moved into our house, and while we shopped around at all of the places mentioned above (minus the place on Wisconsin Ave), they had the best deal for size/comfort/utility with a kid. Good luck!
A few I'm hoping to cover: Bringing up Bebe (P. Druckerman), Traitor to His Class: the Privileged Life and Radical Presidency of FDR, The Art of Fielding.
I can't say enough good things about airbnb.com. Feel free to PM me if you want more details on our experience with it, but we found that most postings were accomodating in terms of our travel dates, and (depending on location and availability of course) generally we found excellent values. Good luck!
Recommend looking at airbnb.com for options. We've used it for planning trips to Europes in the past, and have been pleased.
