SSFS sent 3 grades home for 10 days

They do weekly testing and someone got a positive test. Now all these kids are at home. Private school law are not immune to the madness.

Why do they need to be home for 10 days? Can they not wait 5 days and then test?

What grades?

Did they test before school started as well?

They tested before school started. And again for weekly testing on 8/31 and the dashboard shows 0 cases from that testing. So it seems these were likely a result of Labor Day weekend events/travel?

To be fair, this is due to an actual positive test, not just someone at school saying they have a headache (looking at you, MCPS).

Why do they need to complete a full 10 day quarantine if other students did not test positive? Last year at our private when students were exposted, they quarantined for 5 days and then returned upon completion of PCR negative test. Only covid positive students needed to complete full 10 day quarantine.

Geez Folks. Tests were taken in school on Tuesday, results came back on Wednesday. So there was a kid who was COVID positive in school for two days. 10 days from now is a weekend, They will basically be virtual for a week plus two days. This is better than last year's 14 day quarantine that hit some of these same kids.

I'm guessing that it is three grades because of how the aftercare is podded, but don't know for sure.

I agree. Not to minimize what a logistical nightmare it is for parents but I’ve been happy with how how they’re handling covid.

So three full grades were deemed close contacts?

Schools should do test to stay, rather than have half a school miss a week.

Exactly. Its absurd when you say it like that because it IS absurd.

Now 2 positives in MS. Anyone know how many kids were sent home this week?

They're doing the right thing for those unvaccinated kids.
