If you've ordered appliances lately, what was the lead time?

I've seen all the threads about long lead times on furniture due to the supply chain disruptions of the last year, but I'm curious about whether people are seeing similar delays in other items, specifically appliances.

We are trying to time a washer/dryer purchase for the end of a renovation project. Currently, Costco's website says delivery is available in two weeks. It seems too good to be true! If you've ordered appliances lately, what was your lead time?

We ordered kitchen appliances in April and were originally told October. We called this week to check and were told our oven won't be available until FEBRUARY now lol. Refrigerator is November.

It depends on if it is in stock or not. Just got a hot water heater. Lowes had it in stock (you can order it from any local store, not just the one near you) and it was delivered in a day. Home Depot was about 4 days (I think delivery issue, not appliance). We got washer/dryer from another place and it took about a week (again delivery scheduling vs. in stock).

Just ordered an oven last week and we were told 30-34 weeks including transit time from Europe.

Ordered a range from Bray & Scarff -- it's supposed to be delivered in a week.

A bit dated, but we ordered a whole set of appliances in early Sept. 2020 and received in mid-December.

That's not lately. A lot has changed.

Costco has been pretty good throughout (I have ordered washer/dryer and range during the pandemic). More importantly, if you are ordering from Costco, you're not looking for custom or super high-end unusual appliances - in my observation, those are the ones that have had the most delays.

It’s probably chips. High end have more “smarts”.

If you need it quickly, you just need to pick something already in a warehouse in the US. If you want something that has yet to be manufactured, it will take much longer.

We’re getting used to rations, like Eastern Europeans during communism.

In what way? Waiting for an appliance is nothing like the controlled access to basic goods.

I bought a low end refrigerator for a rental property I own in early August. It was delivered last week. Home Depot was the vendor.

In every way. I hear Costco has limits in number of basic items purchased, like tp, hs, etc.

If you have to wait for a year to buy furniture or appliances, and still don’t know for sure if you’re getting it, what does that sound like to you?

2-3 weeks in April for a low end fridge and stove. We specified that we wanted things that were available, which probably helped, but we needed smaller than normal appliances, so we had somewhat limited options. I think if you're flexible and specify that you want something that's in stock, you should be ok. Sometimes when something is supposedly going to be in stock soon, it keeps getting pushed back.
