Are people doing birthday parties?

I’m planning to do an outdoor birthday for about 20 kids. How would people feel about this? Should I specify masks optional? What about a bounce house?

We are. All outdoors, masks are NOT optional, and kids take home cupcakes or cookies (whichever the kid wants to give their friends) that are packaged.

Depends on where you are. People seem to be much more Covid conservative in moco than in Arlington. 20 kids is too many.

We recently had a small bounce house birthday party. Masks were required inside. We served food and even slices of cake (COVID doesn't transmit via food).

Ugh just don’t

Why? I don't see the problem if it is an outside party (masks on inside if they need the bathroom).. Keeping the party small is probably a good idea, but other than that let the kids have a childhood....

We went to one outside yesterday. Maybe 7 kids not in masks except my kid, 20 adults all in masks.

OP here. How many is small? My DC has 10 friends from outside and 10 in class all of which I was going to invite. Too big? Or ok? Assume not everyone will be able to make it.

I’m personally fine with any number at outdoor and a smaller number at indoor.

Not PP but we had a small birthday party of 10 kids which seemed a good amount. I would say 20 is too big. If someone did test positive for covid after the party that is a lot of people to contact...

We wouldn't go. Ask the parents if they'd go.

Yes, I’ve been to quite a few outdoor bday parties and there has been full turnouts.

I’d keep it to kids you’re already exposed to (i.e. classmates). I’ve been to several park parties with only the kids in my DD’s pre-K class and they were all fun and it didn’t feel like adding much risk to our lives.

Yup, we're going to outdoor parties of any number of kids, wear masks if the hosts specify and otherwise don't bother.

We also went to an indoor party that made us a little jumpy but they'd rented the place out, had the first slot of the day so no one else had been in there, and all adults and kids wore masks except when eating. And my kid goes to school with all the attendees anyway.

Food outdoors is no problem covid-wise. Litter-wise, just be sure to clean up obviously ...
