Spotting before ovulation

I've heard that spotting can occur right before ovulation, or during ovulation. Anyone know if this precedes ovulation by a day, an hour, etc?

I have been taking OPKs and not gotten a positive yet (I'm only on Day 12), but I had a tiny bit of spotting this morning.

Same thing with me, so I would like to know too. I'm on day 14 and usually don't ovulate til later, like day 18 or 19, but this is after having a miscarriage a couple months ago, so who knows if I will be how I am usually am. I am also kind of crampy too, which is not usual either.
