I had a COVID test at Walgreens yesterday and I can’t remember if they email you the results or call? Can anyone refresh my memory?

Thanks

Did anyone get a PCR test at Walgreens? How long did it take for results? They handed me a piece of paper that said 24 hours, but then the person who took my sample told me "3 to 5 days". I would've just done the rapid test if it's really going to take 5 days.

I got the pcr test on Monday and just got the results today!

10:33 PP here-- OMG, that is a long time! I just checked mine, and it says they haven't received the sample yet (after about 22 hours from when I turned it in at Walgreens).

I don't see how this is really useful from a public health standpoint if it takes that long. I got sick Wednesday, couldn't get an appointment for the test until Thursday, and now probably have to wait until the middle of next week for test results. Meanwhile, I'm starting to feel better from whatever I have already. It all leaves me feeling like I shouldn't have bothered to test.

Did you do the Rapid ID Now PCR test? They do that in house and results should be back quickly. My kids had it done before vacation and we had results within an hour.

12:56 again there is also the regular PCR test that does take longer as I believe they send those out.

Our private school requires the kids to have a Pcr test so that’s why we didn’t do the rapid one.

There is a rapid PCR test (ID Now) but harder to get appointments. Walgreens offers it, but again, you need to book appointments early which is also insane because other than for travel who plans ahead for covid testing.

This is the op, I’m just curious, what are your symptoms? Mine started last Thursday night with body aches, that lasted a day then I got the worst sore throat and headache, with some sneezing….all of which is delta variant symptoms. I felt the worst when I got the COVID test on Weds morning. Then I woke up yesterday feeling 100% better. I did test negative for COVID.

10:33 here again-- developed a sore throat Wednesday morning, mild chills, but no fever, and just really tired. Nasal congestion developed later that day. All of those continued Thursday (the day I tested), plus muscle and joint aches. By yesterday, most symptoms were gone except cough and mild nasal congestion. Today I'm just occasionally coughing up phlegm. Still no test results.

My two small unvaxxed children have had zero symptoms this whole time (which is really weird-- they are all over me and sleep in my bed and ALWAYS get whatever illness I have, and vice versa). I'm double vaxxed with Moderna, FWIW.

Op here again, so we basically have had the same symptoms. I never had a fever either, but did have chills. I am also vaxxed with Moderna. My elderly parents live with me and of course I was around them prior to the full on symptoms I had, neither picked up whatever it was.

Sorry about not receiving your test results yet, hope you get a negative result!

10:33 PP again. Finally got my result around 11:30 tonight (negative). So it took about 60 hours from when I tested on Thursday. Definitely getting a rapid test next time, even if it's less accurate.
