CBD gummies for teen with anxiety

Anonymous
My poor kid's anxiety is through the roof right now. He has ADHD and GAD. But the therapists have always said the anxiety will be a bigger concern for him. And that seems to be playing out.

He absolutely, completely, and consistently refuses to use an anti-depressant for anxiety. He doesn't want to be on long-term meds. (He's 16).

Has anyone tried CBD gummies for their teens? Do they work? Or are they a placebo? And are there any drawbacks I'm not seeing (I have read that there could be some potential liver damage with long-term use). I'm just thinking for things like the first day of school. A big test, etc.

You really need to talk to your medical provider. Not sird you can even get a medical card at that age if you haven’t tried and failed at other meds.

Go for it

I tried, and it feels same as smoking weed. So, if you don't mind your kid graduating to smoking weed, sure go for it. But my recommendation instead would be a Buspar script from PCP and finding a PhD who does CBT. The outcome should be better.

I can't imagine taking a test on CBD. I might fall asleep!

Cbd does not require a medical card.

Please, if you do this, make sure there is no THC in the gummies. There are studies that show teens can develop psychosis that mimics schizophrenia from THC. This happened to my brother and it's been a heartbreaking journey.

Buscar is not an anti depressant or SSRI btw. I take as needed, but supposed to use daily as directed

I'm sorry about your brother. Did he smoke pot for a long time?

CBD is not pot. There is no high. It helps me by stopping obsessive thoughts, and makes me feel even-keeled and calm. Combined with coffee, it gives me a clear head and makes me more productive, less nervous, and I sleep a lot better.

The only side effect I've experienced is that my super sharp memory is a little less sharp. Maybe this is because people who are obsessing constantly (like me) remember every little detail whereas the relaxed person lets the little things go?

I have given my anxious teenager a CBD capsule as a daily supplement, and it seems to even him out, too.

I would check with your doc, but it seems to be worth a try before you try more serious, long term meds.

CBD is available over-the-counter everywhere. You don’t need a medical card, ffs.

You are either lying or you were sold something with THC.

It's "CBD" from CBD Store. They all have some THC in it unless you get "broad spectrum."

Huh. I get my CBD from Prima and Charlotte's Web - not the "CBD store." I think you are confused and think CBD is bought at a pot dispensary but really you can find it at any vitamin or health food store. (Mom's Organic, Whole Foods, Village Apothecary)

Some people also take magnesium. There are more and less effective forms so you need to research which to take, though. I also reccomend CBT or DBT if he hasn’t already done it.
