Does anyone know if there is a setting I can change or if it is even possible at all to have the call log on the iPhone show dates only, no matter how recent the call is, instead of "yesterday", "Monday", etc?
It doesn't start showing a date until the call is at least a week old, which is incredibly annoying. This has been a huge pet peeve of mine for a while, but I haven't looked into it until now. I sometimes have to take screenshots of calls for documentation purposes and it's annoying when for example the call is listed as "Yesterday 11:45am Missed Call". Yes, the screenshot itself is date/time stamped, but that's not helpful. Even the date on the screenshot shows as "Today", "Yesterday", etc until it is a week old, then it changes to the actual date. Waiting for the call age one week and then take a screenshot is not a solution, because I'll forget. This feature is annoying as hell, is there a fix for this? Is there something obvious that I've been missing? |
Bumping, because I wish I knew. I hate this, as well. Add it to the long list of "features" that Apple adds that are supposed to be user-friendly, and are really just annoying. |
If you tap the "i" to the right of the word "yesterday", "Tuesday" etc you can view full call details including the date.
Guess you PP can mark one thing off their "long list". ![]() |
That's not the same. Of course we can find the information but personally when I scroll at my call log I want to see the actual dates. |
Actually, no, not for all. If you click on the "i" next to "Today" or "Yesterday", it still says "Today" and "Yesterday" and does not give a date. Still annoying. This also doesn't help if you need to take a screenshot for documentation, meaning you have to wait until the third day, and also remember, to be able to take a screenshot showing a date. |
Okay. I gave you the available solution. Sorry you don't like it. |

The answer is to buy an Android phone. I recommend a Pixel. |
DP. Just tried this and when I click on the “i” it still says “today.” No date. |
Probably better off logging in to your cellphone account and looking at the call log. |
Your available solution doesn't work though. Still just shows day of week. |
I figured it out, I needed to do it for myself. Also, the way to remove the word yesterday is to manually shut off your automatic time on your phone and set the time to about 11:58 PM for Yesterdays date. By changing the time and date, it wheels trick the phone into thinking it is still the same day and it will not show the word yesterday and what not
You’re welcome everybody |
I’ll go to Apple store for support. Can we all go in order to get the “genius” Apple Tech’s
attention! |
I hope this is a joke. |
