School Supply Noise Canceling Headphones?

Anonymous
When school supply list for private says noise cancelling headphones, with mic, do they mean like real headphones that cover ears or just earbuds that seal well?

Suggest over the ear - harder to lose.

What age? If high school I’d do AirPods if younger, over the ear.

I would think not. Pain in the A to connect them to every device.

School recommends keeping "expensive" headphones at home, but since this is private school what would expensive be considered. We are looking at Ankar for $30 or Beats for $190 (sadly I can't find many mid range options).

Oh I see it’s the noise canceling, Ankers are $100 and wireless

How important is noise canceling? Something simple like this seems ok? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/beats-by-dr-dre-beats-ep-headphones-black/5577775.p?skuId=5577775

Can the school offer suggestions base don what other kids have? Can you talk to other parents? Our school doesn't have this requirement, but if it did, I'm certain the class parents what's app group would be the place to ask, or I'd call the school and ask.

Unlessnthw schoolmprobided device has Bluetooth air pods won’t work.

Expensive would be the price point at which you would whine to the principal if you lost them.

What grade? I believe both my kids schools list ‘noise cancelling headphones’ but they really just need some plug in headphones. Doesn’t have to be expensive or hi tech.

+1 I'd say whether you need the noise canceling depends on how sensitive your child is to background noise. I have one child who is super sensitive to noise, so he gets the old pair of Bose headphones I no longer use that has active noise cancellation. My other kids could stay focused with a tornado in the background. They have plain old Airpods.

Why are you all sending your kids to private school for them to be on screens and headphones all day?

Our school recommends the plug-in version of these. They're volume limited to protect kids' hearing, and they have one pair (in the adult section but would work for kids too) that has active noise cancelling.

Ours specifically request wired, as there are too many tech problems that come along with the bluetooth, wasting a lot of class time sorting it out.
