You can thank Lana Del Rey.
Im not sure who that is, so I’ll thank Taylor

I guess you missed their collaboration then.

Lana is the one Taylor took elements of the song from. Without Lana’s song, you would not have Taylor’s song.

Taylor copied elements from Jackson 5, Pixies, and more. You can thank all of them.

Taylor sounds absolutely nothing like Lana. They could not be more different artists. Their Collab on midnights was the worst song on the album which was a shame because they are both excellent artist artists

I love Lana and think Taylor is mid, but I don't really hear Lana on Fate of Ophelia. If Taylor sampled Lana for it, whatever, artists sample all the time, it's normal.

Talking about this does remind me of when Taylor dragged Lana up on stage at the Grammy's to accept an award on Midnights and you could tell Lana really didn't want to and it was incredibly cringe and awkward.

Cringe really is Taylor's brand sometimes. I think it's at least partly intentional but it's is very much not my thing.

Listen to Taylor’s Wildest Dreams and Lana’s “Without You.”

Taylor has taken partial lyrics, bridges, and more from others. Meanwhile, she sued Olivia R to get credit for inspiration.

Eh, I don't want to sit around comparing songs to each other. Without You is a great song, if Taylor did a cheap copy of it, bummer for Taylor and people who only listen to that and not to Lana's song.

I do think Taylor appears to be weirdly drama-prone with other female recording artists. She's either totally in love/obsessed with them OR they are feuding. She has no chill. She reminds me of people I've known socially who were ultimately very hard to deal with. In fact Actually Romantic specifically annoys me because it's precisely the kind of childish mind games I have no energy for as an adult. "OMG I heard you hang out with my ex who you were friends with well before I knew either of you, you must be obsessed with me!" Girl, sit down. You sound crazy.

I was with you on the Charli thing, but then I heard that she opened for 51 shows on the eras tour which I can’t imagine how many millions she was paid for that, and after said she didn’t like feeling like she was playing for five-year-olds. I think she apologized or something, but that was super obnoxious, disrespectful, Taylor, and the fans and just really clueless. She deserves a diss track after that.

I’m still not into a diss track and the dissing she has done in the past with Dear John and so on. She’s always the victim.

This album just made me realize T acts like someone with a personality disorder.
Maybe Charlie is over it just like all the other friends left in Taylor’s wake…

Karli, Blake, Lena, Lorde, and so on. Maybe they tired of the drama llama.

Olivia Rodrigo, Billie & Finneas… Kiss & tell on all of all of her exes… Love bomb Matty Healy with love songs for a decade, then release TSMWEL 🤦‍♀️

DP. Provide actual citations, otherwise go sulk elsewhere. Taylor Swift always credits any collaborators or lenders (George Michael).

She does not. Her lyrics are similar to Lana’s and I do not see credit given. Lana published the songs first.

I wrote a post with a list of examples but the website won’t let me share them.

She didn't take anything from Lana Del Rey. The PP is just the usual psycho who can't stand any positivity around Taylor Swift.

Here. Take a look at this to see the lyrics of Lana’s that Tay Tay “borrowed.”

It's not our problem if you can't hear how similar it is to summertime sadness. That's a you problem. Also, why do you keep throwing insults into normal conversations? Grow up.

I loved Maroon on Midnights and also the albums Folklore and Evermore. I’ve paid for tickets to the Eras tour. I’ve bought nearly every album.

But I am VERY disappointed after researching and listening to the songs Taylor has borrowed from or imitated from or taken from.

I’m questioning the whole brand at this point and feel like the wool was pulled over my eyes.

If you don’t want to believe the songs that sound exactly alike really do sound exactly alike, I can understand why. It’s upsetting to say the least.

I’m not happy to learn this either.

But if you call people names, that is wrong. And, as your leader Tay Tay said, one’s energy is an “expensive commodity.”

If you want to stay blind to her taking songs and treating people badly with diss tracks, you can do that.

But for me? After a while, I had to question why she bought a house near a minor child (Conor Kennedy) who she was dating. He was 17 and she was in her 20s…

I read her dad’s letter where he describes all he did to make her career happen. I had to question those tactics.

I had to question why she was not forthright with the story around her masters.

I had to question a song with terrible lyrics like “your love was the key to open my thighs.” I thought the bad lyrics I saw were a joke…

I had to wonder why her best albums came out when she was with Joe, who holds two undergraduate degrees and co-wrote some of her best songs.

I had to question how out of tune she is. See performance with Stevie Nicks for just one of many out of tune examples.

But I get it. She’s fun. She does social media well. She comes off as relatable. She will even speak in a country accent for two years if you want. She will talk of “kitchen table bills,” which she never had to worry about since she grew up in a mansion and the child of a stock brocker. Scott shares details of his assets in his letter which is widely available.

She and Lana are friends - if there was any truth to any of that, this would already have been an issue. It wasn't.

Oh you’re right. I thought it was Eras tour. Still was an obnoxious thing to say. That was a huge tour and no doubt that exposure helped her career.

More money-grabbing. She is so shameless.

She is a huge star and did the biggest tour ever and is offering people a glimpse backstage via a docuseries.

I really enjoyed her miss Americana documentary so I’m looking forward to this one.

Anyway, even if there was no person named Taylor Swift, I still would have a subscription to Apple Music so I get her music for free in a sense. And we are subscribed to Disney+ because it was a good bundle with some sports package my husband wanted plus Hulu so I won’t be paying extra for that either.

I get what you’re saying, she is obviously getting paid for this. But a lot of her fans can listen to her music and watch her documentaries without paying anything extra.

As for the people who buy a bunch of variations of her albums, I personally do not get that. But to each their own.

So then she writes happy songs and she’s criticized.
If you don’t like her, that’s cool. Plenty of other artists out there to choose from, but some of the mental gymnastics to land on “hate her” is too much. Just say you don’t like her, you don’t need to act like she’s single handedly responsible for ending world hunger. That’s absurd. She does more than we know of most likely.

It is SO weird to me why anyone who dislikes something would be obsessed with letting everyone know about it. Do they feel cool? The TS and MM people are the same.

Why spend so much time and energy complaining about things and artists you DON’T like? Get a hobby or find something you DO like and get on with your life. Weird.

As a Taylor neutral, I'll grant that she seems to copy a lot from Lana, but that changed her music for the worse. Earlier stuff was better. Now there's no melody.
