Please help find GF/DF/SF takeout!

Anonymous
My son has been found to be allergic to gluten, dairy, soy and corn. I'm having a major surgery soon and cannot shop and cook. I'd like to order takeout - live in Bethesda- that the whole family can eat safely. We haven't eaten out or done any takeout since my son was diagnosed with these allergies, and I'm looking for any restaurants that would have a menu that could accommodate this. Thanks!

A lot will depend on how bad the allergies are.

I'm thinking traditional sushi without any soy or mayo-based sauce, but in this heat, please order from a reputable place if you're ordering raw fish. Asian sauteed meats are often coated with sauces that include soy and possibly gluten.

If he has serious symptoms with even trace amounts of these allergens, I would ask trusted local friends/relatives and neighbors to set up a meal train, and give them your recipes.

Can you fill your freezer with appropriate meals now?

True Foods in Bethesda can be trusted if you alert them as to the issues.

Amy’s frozen meals are pretty decent, they definitely have dairy free and gluten free options although the corn thing might be tricky.

Thank you for the suggestions.
Meal train is not an option - no family close by and don't have close friends to start meal train here. My family wants to send gift cards or order takeout for us.
True Food looks great.
Are there any other options?

Other options that come to mind although of course check:

Five guys burger in a bowl or lettuce wrap

Chipotle burrito bowl

Hip city veg?

Those salad places like sweet green, chop’t

Beefsteak restaurant

Good luck. Soy makes it really tough.

Moby Dick

Top Choices:
Cava

Sweet Green

True Food Kitchen

Lilet Cafe (GF not sure about dairy, soy, corn)

Other Ideas:

Look at Silver (not sure if they are celiac safe for GF (cross-contamination) but have GF options)

I think Olazzo has GF pasta but again, not sure about cross-contaimination

Thank you for all these great suggestions.
We don't eat out/do takeout much so I didn't even know where to start making a list

We have allergies and don’t trust them to avoid cross contamination

Download the Fine Me Gluten Free app on your phone. Might have some good suggestions and details about cross-contamination for allergies for some restaurants.
