How to meet genteel upper class Americans?

Anonymous
The recent threads about the affluent Southern family has me wondering where I can encounter them. Everyone in the DMV seems to be UMC strivers from other states and lack manners and class.

What do you want to do once you meet them? Shake their hand or become friends with them or learn how to be one?

Probably the latter. I'll bet that a lot of strivers are watching this thread with bated breath and taking notes.

The colonial re-enactments in Williamsburg have your type. Best time to go would be Labor Day, when the sun goes down but before night tours begin.

I went to a large SEC university in the south. I was in a sorority. Try there! Super rich southerners love their SEC football and sororities/fraternities. They aren't interested in SLAC in the north east.

They may be upper class, but they are not "genteel."

You'll have to work on your grammar. The poster you quoted listed three options, so the final option would be the last. Latter is the second of two.

You do get points for spelling "bated" correctly, though.
