Does declaring state of emergency help MD, DC or VA with their current gas shortages?

If so and has better hurry up and declare.

I think gas stations need to limit gas to just filling up your car right now. No filling up gas cans and gas tanks and barrels and such

Some news reports were suggesting that declaring a state of emergency made things worse by encouraging panic buying.

VA declared one on Tuesday

D.C. here - no one is lining up to fill tanks in downtown. I have no idea what the fuss is all about.

I unplug my car every morning and always have a full “tank”!

LOL’ing at all the dullards worried about gas. So 2012.

The pipeline is open. It will get back to normal. Just be patient and not a crazy panicky person.

You just need to worry about blackouts that come with renewable energy, if it ever ramps up to a high percentage.

If you have batteries backing up your solar, you don't even need to worry about that. And you know Hydro and wind are also renewable and don't have these issues either, right?

Was out today. Gas in Bethesda is still expensive (cheapest I saw was $3.50 at Liberty) and there were no lines or panicked people.
