Please recommend your electric range

My 13-year-old Frigidaire seems to be on the last leg. What can I get in the $2000-$2500 range? I do a lot of cooking at home.

Look into one with an induction cooktop. I dumped my gas for induction and its really quite nice. Easier to clean, as responsive as gas, no 'hot' burners like radiant (though they do back-heat from the pan).

Induction or gas. Electric is for old ladies who don’t cook anymore and are worried about their gas stoves exploding.

Don't know about current pricing, but I love my GE Profile induction range. Super responsive, safe when the kids cook, great consistency in heat.

I lived all my life with gas and just moved into a place with electric and I am surprised how good it is. We are serious cooks and although I’m considering getting a single burner butane four occasional high heat needs, on the whole it’s quite good. And boy is it easy to clean!

Although if I had had the choice I would’ve chosen gas, I’ve definitely since read stuff about indoor air quality and gas ranges that would make me hesitant to install it.

How can you tell what amount of heat you’re getting in an electric? I’m not a professional cook by any means, so I need to visually see how small or large my flame is, it seems impossible to do with an electric?

OP here: we are in a condo so gas is not an option at all. Looking for specific recommendations for electric ranges. If you an induction range, do you love it?

Yes we love ours. We had electric and did a renovation and instead of installing a gas line went with induction. Boiling water happens so quickly, heat is even, so so easy to clean, safer for little ones if you have kids or grandkids (heat is only on when pan is on there so you can't accidentally turn on very easily), only negative really was having to replace some of our pans but we cook with a lot of cast iron so mostly wasn't a problem.
