Online/virtual middle school math camp?

Anonymous
I am looking for an online math camp for DD, who is a rising 7th grader. with math anxiety I prefer something that is more nuts-and-bolts rather than creative math/ or math that gets them to think out of the box. The purpose is to prepare for 7th grade/8th grade math (their school is supposed to be one grade ahead). My kid has done the Art of Problem Solving Math camp, but I found that to focused on enrichment/out-of-the box thinking/creative math thinking. I am looking for more of a substantive preview of the math she may be learning in the classroom.

I looked into Kumon, but that is not really what we are looking for. Plus it looks like they would start her on math facts, and move forward, meaning, it's more of a long-term math program. Not a summer program to get a head start for classroom math. DD has math anxiety, and we have found that having a substantive "sneak preview" of some of the more difficult concepts really, really helps.

Sidwell Summer and Landon Summer both have programs

Mathnasium has an online option and they’re pretty nuts and bolts.

My kid did a virtual class through Landon last summer before Algebra and I thought is was good. It was a couple hours a day for a few weeks, and it gave him confidence going into math this year (and made me more confident that he was ready).

Summer at Burke has a Rising 7th/8th Math and an Algebra I, depending on what skills you're looking to cover
